Benefits of using Wireless Switches

As a manufacturer and distributor of switches and sensors, wireless switches form part of our product catalogue. Over the recent years, there have been developments in technology making wireless very popular.

We have been supplying wireless switches to a range of industries for a while now and we have found that there are benefits to using wireless solutions when it comes to switches.

Benefits of using wireless switches

  • Tidy – not having wires means that the workspace remains tidy and clutter free.
  • Safe – with no wires to trip over, the workplace is a lot safer.
  • Convenient – being able to operate a device from a distance with a transmitter can be very convenient in some applications.
  • No restrictions – using a wireless solution means that you are not restricted by the length of the cable.

Wireless switches from Herga

We offer two different types of wireless switch, Bluetooth and Infrared;

Bluetooth – our Bluetooth solutions are well proven in the medical industry for wound cleaning and dental applications. Our range includes our 6226, 6241, 6311 and 6210 footswitches. As they work on a closed network they will not be affected by surrounding devices. Our Bluetooth footswitches use commercially available alkaline AAA batteries and have a battery life of over 1000 hours.

Infrared – our wireless Infrared switches use a transmitter and a receiver. This means that the operator can control the switch from a distance. This type of switch is often used on heavy duty doors so that someone on a heavy duty vehicle can operate the door without dismounting the vehicle.

Many of our wireless solutions are customisable and can be incorporated into our new Modular Base System. If you have any requirements for a wireless solution please contact us 01284 701422 or sales@herga.com
