Kelvin Retires from our Sales Department

Kelvin Lambert from our sales department will be retiring in September. After nearly 30 years of service to Herga Technology, Kelvin has decided it's time to call it a day.

Kelvin has really enjoyed his time at Herga Technology; he recalls some of his highlights

“There have been so many…

The people I have worked with; the people I have met; the fun I have had working here (which is most important), having the opportunity to travel to most of the countries in Europe to meet up with our agents.  It was great to spend time in the US with Terry Ferstle from RDI watching the ‘Super Bowl’ whilst he explained the rules.

The Inter-Firm Sports Days were a lot of fun - we actually won it once; the famous Herga Five- a- Side Football Team - we were pretty good in our day!

I really enjoyed working on a project for a company called Rogers Industrial for safety bumpers for the General Motor Company, I knew the quantity would be quite significant but was blown away when the order was won for 900 x systems which comprised of 1800 x bumpers and 900 x control boxes making the order total the single largest order to date; something I am very proud of!   

At the opposite end of the scale, I have also really enjoyed helping the individual customer who requested the 1 x part to get their system up and running - just as important!”  

Changes at Herga Technology During Kelvin's Employment

A lot can change within a company in 30 years. We have seen some adjustments to our sales department in the time that Kelvin has been with us.

Since Herga has become part of Variohm Holdings in 2012 a lot has changed – Kelvin explains “Approx. 4 years back we became part of Variohm Holdings and the change has been quite remarkable; there has been significant changes in the management structure; the layout of the factory has altered significantly which after initial reservation the staff can now see and reap the benefits, this in turn will secure the long term future of Herga.”  

Kate Sandlan our Internal Sales Manager has been working closely with Kelvin for some time – she says “I have been working with Kelvin for the past 15 years. He is a great colleague and having worked so closely together I now often find myself finishing his sentences for him.

The office will not be the same without him, we will all miss him and so will his customers. We wish him a long and happy retirement”
