It’s official! The 14th September 2018 was a milestone day at Herga Technology Ltd.
The Herga Solder School was officially opened by the Head of Engineering Paul K Edwards and in house IPC Trainer George Mason.
George completed his IPC610A CIT (IPC Trainer) course earlier in the year, officially giving Herga the ability to provide approved IPC CIS (IPC Application Specialist) training to our staff and any other companies wishing to partake in staff development and learning. After completion, George made it his mission to create a working area within the company, dedicated for the development of our staff and ensuring, with robust integrity, a consistent and repeatable level of quality for our electronic products. He has also incorporated designing bespoke training programs, with intensive course objectives and examinations.
IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies is the most widely used standard published by the IPC (Institute of Printed Circuits) (www.http://www.ipc.org/). It has an international reputation as the source for end product acceptance criteria for consumer and high reliability printed wiring assemblies.
In order for Herga to improve its product quality, the IPC610 A standard gives every member of staff the opportunity to develop their soldering skills and awareness of the critical quality details of electronics and the impact this has on our customers. Everyone is looking forward to the next period to complete training across the site and possibly share these skills with other parts of the discoverIE Group and beyond!
So why not enquire about the solder school, would you like your staff to have CIS IPC610A training?
Come and spend a couple of days with George to obtain your own certificate.
Ed Charlson, Operations Director says; “The consistent protection of product quality and integrity through robust, repeatable and proven manufacturing tools and techniques, offered and technically deliberated with an understanding that directly supports application, is what every OEM or end user reasonably expects from the supply chain. The difference here at Herga and through George, is we can now provide this core processing skill to our own staff; both as induction and as ongoing refresher learning to meet with changes in legislation, application needs and customer expectation. We can now also train others from outside of Herga to a recognised standard where they themselves can then go away and train”.
Paul K Edwards – Head of Engineering and Quality says “It’s here at last, a place for all our staff to receive bespoke training to IPC standards, not only improving our personal skills but also providing consistent electronic soldering quality standards across our product range”.
