Safety Footswitches

Safety Footswitches are used for machines in environments where the user requires added safety. They are used in applications where operation with the hands is not possible.

Our 6256 is one of our newest footswitches and has features for it to be used as a safety footswitch.

Our safety footswitches contain an emergency stop feature which, when compressed, will cut the power to the machine it is connected to. This is useful in industrial manufacturing applications where the user could be at risk or in danger.

Where are Safety Footswitches used?

Safety footswitches can be used throughout many industrial processes. They are aimed at operator control and production environments. Some of the applications which our range of safety footswitches are suitable for are;

  • Sheet metal cutting
  • Guillotines
  • Folding machines
  • Press break machines
  • Stapling machines
  • Welding machines
  • Pipe bending machines

Features of our Safety Footswitches

Our safety footswitches are constructed of high grade thermoplastic, injection moulded ABS suitable for high impact and self extinguishing. They have been drop tested with a 20kg weight at 1m and only received minimal damage when compared to our competitors. See the drop test video here.

Our safety footswitches are;

  • Sturdy, durable and reliable
  • Long life
  • Have a modular design for infinite multiplication
  • Have an adaptable range of accessories
  • Waterproof to IP67
  • Optional guard for added user safety

Emergency Stop Safety Footswitch

An emergency stop button is important for a safety footswitch to help prevent injury within the workplace and to stop a machine which could be malfunctioning. They are particularly well suited to hazardous environments.

They are quick and easy to access as they are located on top of the foot switch or on a pole to be operated by the hand. Having the emergency stop on the footswitch rather than on the machine itself ensures the user doesn't get too close to a malfunctioning machine.
