Buttons and Switches

Here, at Herga, we specialise in buttons and switches. All of our buttons and switches are manufactured in our warehouse facility in the UK.

Our buttons and switches are used throughout many industries worldwide. We have a range of electric and pneumatic buttons and switches making them suitable for different environments.

Types of Buttons and Switches

The different types of buttons and switches we have at Herga are;

Footswitches – our most popular product category. Our footswitches come in various sizes and can be constructed of different materials to suit different applications. We have single and multi-pedal versions available and stock models.  For full details and comparison – take a look at our footswitch line card.

Hand controls – our hand control switches are widely used in medical applications and industrial environments. They have an ergonomic design and large buttons for ease of use. Some have up to 8 buttons making them suitable to a wide range of applications.

Bellows – bellows are part of our pneumatic range of switches. They operate using air rather than electricity. They are available as single or multi-pedal and have an optional base for added security.

Puckswitches – our puck switches offer high mechanical stability and are easy to clean. They can be used within our modular base footswitch system.

Infrared switches– we have 2 different types of infrared switches. They are used as non-contact switches which makes them very hygienic in public bathrooms.

Air and vacuum switches – our range of air and vacuum switches are compatible with our pneumatic switches. Take a look at our pneumatic line card for full product information.

Micro switches – one of our newer product ranges, micro switches are used in many commercial applications as well as industrial environments. As the name suggests, they are very small, sensitive switches.

Push button switches– push button switches are from our pneumatic range and can be used in wet environments. We have two different sizes available.

Within these categories, we have sub-categories dividing our buttons and switches further. Browse our website for our full range.

Technologies for Buttons and Switches

Some of our switches are available using different technologies and connection options, the main types we provide are;

·         Bluetooth

·         Infrared

·         USB

·         Pneumatic

·         Electric

Buttons and switches can also be separated into how they work; our switches can be either momentary or latching. Momentary switches require continuous compression to remain active where latching switches are can be switched “on” with one press and “off” with another. The type of application will usually determine which type of switch is required.

For more information on latching and momentary switches take a look at our blog post.
