Contactless Switching Solutions

Did you know that we can offer contactless switching solutions?

A contactless switching solution means that a switch can be operated without direct contact. This could be in the form of motion detection or using a transmitter and receiver.

Infra-Red Switches

We have different types of Infra-red switches.

The first type is our 6461 non-contact switch. These can detect movement from 75 - 100mm away, we also have special versions which can detect movement up to 500mm away, which will trigger the switch meaning that no contact is required to operate. You may have seen this switch in action as they are a popular choice for a public toilet flush. Using movement instead of contact allows for fewer germs to be passed from person to person when flushing the toilet.

Our second type of Infra-red Switch is our 6310 and 6311 infra-red hand control. These consist of a handheld transmitter and a receiver. Our Infra-red remote transmitters and controls are typically used on heavy duty doors and roller shutter doors. The receiver is placed inside the door control panel and the user can operate the transmitter on approach when the user wants the door to open. The switch on the hand control is operated which sends a signal to the receiver opening the door. These are available as either compact transmitters or heavy-duty transmitters.

Bluetooth Switches

Another type of non-contacting technology we can offer is Bluetooth. Our range currently includes our 6226, 6241, 6311 and 6210 footswitches, transmitters and receivers and it is growing constantly. These Bluetooth footswitches use commercially available alkaline AAA batteries and have a battery life of over 1000 hours. They use a simple secure pairing process and will not be affected by any other devices in the area as the network is closed. They offer a switching solution which is wire free and therefore contactless.

Our Bluetooth Footswitches have been used for applications including welding machines, wound cleaning and dental applications.
